January is Ending...

I am very shocked at how fast time is already moving just on month into 2013. When I look at the calender I become very aware of how close May truly is. From this point on, we are in a sprint to the finish. Try as I might, I have not been successful at slowly the year down after Christmas.

What does that mean for your children?  It means that we have work to do and we will be doing it with a strong sense of calm and ease.

Here are few things to remember for the last 2 weeks of January & the first week in February:

  • Martin Luther King, Jr. - No School - Monday, January 21
  • Boosterthon FunRun - Thursday, January 24 at 9:15 - Keep on getting Pledges!
  • 100th day of school year & 1,000th day of school for 5th graders - Wednesday, January 23
  • System Reading Bowl at GHS - Friday, January 25 at 3:00
  • Resident Artist - Tuesday, January 29 at 11:00 - students will create a painting to bring home
  • Practice Writing Test - Monday, February 4 at 9:50 - This is preparation for the state writing test given to all 5th graders in March
